The Bezza League returns this weekend after the international break with the semi finals of the Bezza Cup. Amanda Adams takes on Chris Wood, while Sam Hardie will play Natasja Ailes for a spot in the final. This is new territory for 3 out of our 4 semi finalists, with only Chris Wood having been at this stage in the cup before. Wood, a former league champion back in 2024 also won the Bezza Shield in 22/23, is looking to become only the second player in Bezza League history to win 3 separate competitions within the Bezza League. Wood has also been a runner up in the Bezza Cup on 2 previous occasions (16/17 & 22/23), surely making him the favourite? Wood’s opponent, however, is 3 places above him in the league table. Amanda Adams is currently 22nd with Wood in 25th. Adams previous best in this competition was a quarter final appearance back in the 22/23 season. In the other semi final, Sam Hardie takes on debutante Natasja Ailes. Both players have struggled in the league this season and a good cup run has been a good distraction. Ailes is currently in 117th, with Hardie in 83rd but its been proven league form not to matter when it comes to Bezza Cup action. With this her debut season, Ailes has no previous competition experience but Hardie did win the Bezza Knockout back in 20/21 and his previous best Bezza Cup run was a last 16 appearance in 2022.
Good luck to the 4 players this weekend. PREDICTIONS ARE DUE FOR 12:45PM ON SATURDAY
