Week 36 Results

Only one person managed to break the double points barrier this weekend. Darren Laidler predicted 2 correct scores and 4 correct outcomes to score 10 points and take top points scorer for week 36. The tally lifts Laidler up 7 places to 84th in the league table.

Marc Jarvis picked up 2nd place this weekend with 9 points. Jarvis predicted 2 correct scores and 3 correct outcomes to bag 9 points and moves up to 77th in the process. Colin Timney, Rachel Baird, Philip Gray, Paul Hardie and David Purves were all 3rd with 7 points.

Harris Khan remains top and still holds a comfortable lead going into the last 2 weeks but the lead was cut by a point, Khan now 7 points clear of Craig Robinson in 2nd. Kev Purves holds on to 3rd, 1 point further back. Greg Pullinger and Carl Collier swap places and are in 4th and 5th respectively.

Only 2 weeks remain and still plenty to play for. A place in the top 10 is still up for grabs to cash for the season. There is also the Bezza Europe spots for next season as well, top 31 plus champion Steve Chilton to qualify for next seasons european competition.

Chilton Conquers Europe

Steve Chilton is the new Bezza Europe champion after beating Brian Baird 3-2 in the final this week. Its the first trophy of Chilton’s Bezza League career and it ensures another Bezza Europe campaign next season. It was looking like Baird was going to take the win after being 1-0 up after the first 3 games. During the PSG v Arsenal game, Baird was leading 2-1 until Saka’s goal for Arsenal turned things around for Chilton. Chilton took the 3 points from the final game to take the Bezza Europe title home. A massive win for Chilton and his Bezza League status! For Baird, back to the drawing board after coming close twice now, Bezza Cup semi final and Bezza Europe runner up. Congratulations Steve.

Week 35 Results

Adam Smith and Stevie Fairless are top scorers for week 35 with 12 points. Both players predicted 3 correct scores and 3 correct outcomes. Smith moves up 12 places to 14th, while Fairless is up 5 places to 11th.

Alex McIsaac and Ken Nicholson were 2nd this weekend with 11 points. McIsaac predicted 3 correct scores and 2 correct outcomes and moves up 9 places to 16th. Nicholson predicted 2 correct scores and 5 correct outcomes to climb up 12 places to 25th in the league table. Kev Illingworth, Anthony Bosher, Mark Heathorn and Harris Khan were 3rd with 10 points.

The most 3 pointers were picked up in the West Ham v Tottenham game as 34 people had the 1-1 scoreline. 25 people scored 3 points for the Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest game which finished in the same scoreline, 1-1.

Harris Khan now has an 8 point lead with 3 weeks remaining, can anyone stop him now? Craig Robinson holds onto 2nd, with Kev Purves back up into 3rd, 3 points behind Robinson. Carl Collier moves up 1 place to 4th and Greg Pulinger moves back into the top 5.

David Purves will play current champion Glenn Baker in the final of the knockout. Purves won his semi final tie after scraping past Paul Maxwell on goals predicted after the tie finished 7-7, while Baker beat Stephen Dowdle 9-3 in the other semi final. The final will take place on week 37.

Robinson Romps To Cup Glory

Craig Robinson is the new Bezza Cup champion after just edging a close encounter with Colin Timney. Both players only scored 1 point over the 2 FA Cup semi final ties over the weekend but Robinson takes home the title after securing the win on goals predicted.. Robinson wins the cup on the smallest of margins, 1 goal. Its a tough one to take for Timney after making it all the way to lose out by a goal. For Robinson, his season keeps getting better.
