Docherty Downs McIsaac To Win Euro Title

Stevie Docherty is the new Bezza Europe champion after an 11-7 win over Alex McIsaac last night. Docherty wins his second title of the season after picking up the Bezza Shield before Christmas. The damage was done in the first leg last week as Docherty took a 4 point lead over former league runner up McIsaac into this week’s games. Docherty becomes the 11th person to in more than one competition in the Bezza League and the first person since Tom Beck in 20-21 to win 2 comps in the same season.

Bezza Europe Final

Alex McIsaac takes on Stevie Docherty in the final of Bezza Europe. Their tie starts tonight with the Champions League semi finals. Mcisaac, previously a runner up (2017-2018) in the league, is looking for his first piece of silverware in the Bezza League. His opponent Docherty, won his first Bezza League competition earlier this season when he took the Bezza Shield title. Both players have never been to this stage of the competition before, although Docherty has had 2 semi final appearances, to McIsaac’s one quarter final appearance in 2022.

Bezza Europe Semi Final Results

Alex McIsaac will play Stevie Docherty in the final of this seasons Bezza Europe. McIsaac scraped past Adam Smith in a close contest that finished 6-6 with McIsaac going through to his first final on the goals predicted rule. In the other semi final, Stevie Docherty beat Dan Stewart 7-4 to make it through to his first Bezza Europe final as well after failing at the semi final stage on 3 previous occasions. 

Final to take place at the end of April with predictions from the semi finals of the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.

Bezza Europe Quarter Final Results

And then there were four! The semi final line-up for Bezza Europe is now complete. Current champion Steve Chilton is out after an 11-8 defeat to former league champion Dan Stewart. Alex McIsaac is through to his first semi final after beating Rob Bosher Jnr 15-12. Adam Smith is also through after a 12-6 win over Ian Rogerson. While Stevie Docherty makes it through to his second semi final after making this far back in 2019-20, defeating Rachel Hay 12-8.

Bezza Europe Last 16 Results

During the week attention turned to the 2nd legs in the last 16 of our Bezza Europe competition. Alex McIsaac, Rachel Hay and Adam Smith were top scorers with a combined score of 12 points over the 2 legs as they advance to the quarter finals. Current champion Steve Chilton also makes it through after a close tie with rival Mark Johnson. Rob Bosher Jnr, Ian Rogerson and Dan Stewart make it through to the quarters with wins over Harris Khan, Darren Vowden and Alex Hamilton respectively. As well as champion Steve Chilton, the only other player to have been at this stage last season was Stevie Docherty. Docherty takes the last spot in the last 8 which takes place in March.

Bezza Europe Last 16 1st Leg

The 1st leg of Bezza Europe’s last 16 ties were completed last night. The scores at the half way stage are shown below. Rachel Hay, Ian Rogerson, Chris Gill and Adam Smith were the highest scores with 7 points. Ties to complete next week with the 2nd legs on Tuesday and Wednesday (24th & 25th Feb).

Bezza Europe Matchday 8 Results

The final group table of this seasons Bezza Europe 1st round is shown below. Top 16 move on to round 2.

Rachel Hay scored 13 points to finish the last gameweek as top scorer. The tally was enough for Hay to finish top of the Group and cruise through to the last 16. Mark Johnson and Anthony Bosher were 2nd with 9 points.

The draw for the last 16 will take place next week.
